Aurora Cessna 310, 1/62, 283-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$79

NOTE: builder only, please read carefully. 1963 issue from ex-Comet molds. Neatly molded with all recessed panel lines, rotating propellers, display stand and full pinstripe decals. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing one tip tank half. The other three are present; you can use one as a master and cast one in resin (if you are good at that), or the kit can be built without the tip tanks, and 310s do exist without them (although it is unusual). Also missing one side clear window, which can be replaced with clear plastic stock as it is almost flat. Inventoried with all other parts present including decals and instructions. Aurora had started a line of inexpensive 29 cent kits in about 1957. The line was a success, and it was expanded. The line grew again when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, as most of Comet's line was very small scale kits, many of them civil aircraft like this one. It appears that Aurora was encouraged by the sale of the ex-Comet civil aircraft, as it expanded the line with it's own molds in the early 1960s.

However, it is only graded 'very good' because There is some creasing on the left (as shown in the photo). Molded in the correct gloss olive drab and black. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

This original art lasted longer than any other at Aurora, only being replaced in the early 1970s when the molds were revised. Molded in the correct gloss dark green and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note that the box displays slighter better than the 'very good' rating - but I rated it as such because there is a 1" tape pull from the factory tape on one long side.
