Monogram F3F-3 Grumman Navy Fighter - (F3F3) Four Star Issue, 1/32, PA70-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$115

Original issue Action Model from 1961. Features a unique system of landing gear operation: when you pull the prop outward and rotate it CCW, the landing gear retracts. Then pull it outward and rotate it CW, and the gear extends. Push the prop in, and it freewheels as normal. Other features include movable control surfaces, detailed cockpit, full decals, sliding canopy, bracing material and instructions for rigging. Molded in red, yellow, silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals, rigging material and instructions. The box displays better than the 'very good' grade but has pieces of masking tape on the four short sides (once used to reseal the box). That is why it is graded as such.

Monogram RB-66A Destroyer Blue Box Issue, 1/83, PA204-130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$45

Still factory sealed. This is the original 1967 issue, not the 1990s reissue. Nicely molded and from the original 'Four Star' molds. Features rear gun turret, cockpit with three crew, opening bomb bay and bomb. Molded in silver and clear. When the Air Force phased out the B-66, they converted many into ECM aircraft, hence the RB-66A. Monogram seized this opportunity as a new lease on life for the B-66 molds and the result was this issue as RB-66 aircraft were being used in Vietnam in the late 1960s.

Monogram B-52 Stratofortress with Jet Sound Vietnam Camouflage Issue, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$185

Rare 1969 issue has Vietnam-style boxart on a high-gloss box. This is the 2nd release of this kit and the last with rare 'Jet Sound.' These models were designed with a major selling point - an internal parts display that could be seen by potential modelers at the store. The display showed major parts of the kit. Inside, all cardboard presentation is still mint and even includes the tissue packing paper. At this point (1969), Monogram had ceased making 'Monoglue', so the B-52 presentation cardboard has a empty spot for glue. Contains 207 parts. Very nicely detailed. Features crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine and of course battery-powered realistic Jet Sound. It has never been started. Inventoried with all parts, 'excellent++' decals, instructions, B-52 booklet and Jet Sound supplement instructions present. Please NOTE that box displays better than the 'good++' rating but I graded it as such because there is tape residue on the bottom of the four side panels.

Monogram Grumman F4F Wildcat - Four Star Issue, 1/48, PA66-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$44

First issue dated 1961. Features folding wings, rotating prop and wheels. Molded in dark gloss blue and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$54

Second issue dated 1967. Features operating dive brakes, trigger released center bomb, retracting/extending landing gear, rear machine gun elevates and rotates. Also includes figures of the pilot, gunner, armorer, LSO (landing signal officer), 4 bombs, bomb cart, and LSO wind screen. Molded in gloss dark blue, black and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Monogram Predicta Personal Car by Darryl Starbird, 1/24, 2796

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+++

$49

Still factory sealed. Hard-to-find reissue from 1990. This kit uses the original molds from this 1964 kit. The Starbird-designed Predicta was the crowd's favorite, traveling over 50,000 miles coast-to-coast and winning many car shows, including the famous Oakland Roadster Show. She was the first in the custom field to have an electrically operated full Lucite Bubble Top and 'Unistick' steering where the wheels are turned by a centrally-located aircraft style control stick. Power was provided by a 392 CID '57 Chrysler Fuel Injection engine. The kit features operating 'Unistick' steering, working bubble top, opening hood, detailed engine, deep dish chrome plated wheels and highly detailed interior. Molded in color, clear, chrome and with rubber tires.

Monogram Piper Tri-Pacer - White Box Issue - (Tripacer), 1/32, 6822

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$85

Still factory sealed but the seal has a split on the bottom tray. 1973 Mattel/Monogram release of this great large-scale model. Rare box art variation has the model facing to the right; usually it is facing to the left. Features opening doors, full interior, removable cowling, engine detail and two hunting figures (including politically incorrect dead mountain lion). Monogram lists a cardboard diorama for use with this kit (and another for the Cessna 180). This was advertised in the old four star kit box for a short time. The display was based on the store display but with the advertising removed. If you have one of these displays, please contact me.

Decals appear 'excellent' and so are the instructions and diorama sheet, but please read the article (on this website) about saving old decals before using any older kit decals. The box has some brown packing tape on the four sides.
