The majority of the parts were never factory sealed, and they have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. Because of WWII, only 10 Model 307 Airliners were built. The design was based on the B-17 and used many of the non-fuselage components. The Model 307 was the firts airliner to have a pressurized passenger cabin. Three aircraft were purchased by Pan Am and five by TWA. When WWII started, the Army Air Corps used all the available remaining 307 and re-named them C-75s. Using TWA aircrew they flew an amazing 3000 trans-Atlantic flights. In 1944 they were rebuilt by Boeing. After the war they were returned to TWA and served until 1951, when they were purchased by Aigle Azur Transporters Ariens in France. Eventually they ended up in Indochina. The Pan Am aircraft operated on the South American routes before and during the war. After 1945 Pan Am used them until 1948, where they saw a continued life as air freighters.
