William H Low Co La France Aerial Ladder New York Fire Department Truck Circa 1900 - Wilo Line Fire Truck, 1/24, FL10

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$179

Very, very rare and the flagship kit of the line. Likely from the 1940s. William H Low Co., of Braintree Mass., issued the 'Wilo Line' which included a superb series of antique commercial firefighting equipment. The scale is given as 1/2" and the finished wagon is over 14 inches long with the ladders, and even bigger with the 6" front carriage bar. The kits were very advanced for the time and shared many of the pre-fabrication methods of Hudson Miniatures. This kit is based on the La France prototype made for the NYFD around 1900. Please note this is a full operating model and not for the faint of heart! Features plastic injection molded spoke wheels, precut large hardwood parts, fully formed hardwood ladder frames that are drilled for the pre-cut ladder rungs, extinguishers, lanterns and much more, two clear factory-sealed small parts bags including a great many fully cut or carved wood ones, metal parts and even plastic parts. Also includes brass screen material metal stock, complete instructions with detailed plans and full text step-by-step guide, painting notes and even a photo of the actual prototype. The kit has never been started. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete including instructions/plans. The kits in this line include CH110 Combination Hose Wagon, FC15 Chemical and Reel Carts, F16 Horses in the same scale, CL120 Hook And Ladder, CL120 (again) City Service Ladder (a completely different kit from the previous one), FC180 Combination Chemical Wagon, FH130 Hose Wagon, FP7 Amoskeag Steamer, CR110 Service Hose Reel, FL10 Aerial Ladder, F18 Chemical Engine and more. In most cases they are the only kits in existence of these historic vehicles. Bill Low did design at least one 'non-fire truck' kit in his Will-O-Line - a Conestoga Wagon, advertised as being 1/24 scale, kit #B14 for $2.85 list as "This is another Museum Piece by Bill Low." After seeing these fire truck kits, I do not doubt that.

William H Low Co Holloway Hook And Ladder Truck 1880 - Wilo Line Fire Truck, 1/24, CL120

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$169

Very, very rare. Mr. Low himself proclaimed this to be "...the handsomest in the Willoline." Likely from the 1940s. William H Low Co., of Braintree Mass., issued the 'Wilo Line' which included a superb series of antique commercial firefighting equipment. The scale is given as 1/2" and the finished wagon is well over 12 inches long with the ladders, and even bigger with the 6" front carriage bar. The kits were very advanced for the time and shared many of the pre-fabrication methods of Hudson Miniatures. This kit is based on the 1880 Holloway Manufacturing Company prototype. Features plastic injection molded spoke wheels, precut large hardwood parts such as completed tanks, fully formed ladder frames, pre-cut ladder rungs, extinguishers and more, a sealed bag of smaller parts including a great many fully carved wood with more of metal and plastic, brass screen, a variety of metal stock as needed, sandpaper, complete instructions with detailed plans and full text step-by-step guide and even a big photo of the actual prototype. The kit has never been started. The small parts are either internal factory bag sealed or inventoried complete; the parts that were never sealed are inventoried complete including instructions/plans. The kits in this line include CH110 Combination Hose Wagon, FC15 Chemical and Reel Carts, F16 Horses in the same scale, CL120 Hook And Ladder, CL120 (again) City Service Ladder (a completely different kit from the previous one), FC180 Combination Chemical Wagon, FH130 Hose Wagon, FP7 Amoskeag Steamer, CR110 Service Hose Reel, FL10 Aerial Ladder, F18 Chemical Engine and more.
