UPC B-29 Superfortress - (ex-Marusan), 1/101, 5067-100

Purchased new on October 6, 1966 at Zayer in Cleveland, Ohio. From Marusan molds and a nice kit with moving control surfaces, rotating props and wheels, cockpit detail, crew, full landing gear and more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufactures and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.

Still factory sealed. Purchased new at Woolworths on May 19, 1967 in 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio. Larger scale kit from Lindberg molds. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. If so, then Marusan copied the Hawk kit as the part layout, panel lines and rivets are identical. Good kit with recessed and raised panel lines. Includes cockpit, rockets, drop tanks, optional position canopy and gear and decals for two different 8th Air Force aircraft. Neat kit features stock parts and additional 'Extra Battle Damaged Parts" with realistically damaged fuselage and horizontal stabilizer. Has decals for camo version or natural metal finish. Includes stand and clear prop disk for in-flight display. Never started. Complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

From the 1950s. One and only issue. This one is fresh from the shipping box but has a very slight factory flaw on it - there is a very small crease running vertically from just right of the forward rotor hub up to the top edge of the box. It is very hard to see and is only visible at certain angles. I personally removed these kits from the original Hobby-Time shipping box - it is the first time they have seen light since the factory. This is a very nice kit for that time with fine raised panel lines, interior detail and molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. The original 'krinkle' bag is present but brittle and cracked. I inventoried the parts and they are 100% present. The decals and instructions are in 'mint' condition.

This is a factory-sealed case of 12 Hobby-XV-3 model kits from the 1950s. Hobby-Time shipped them to the address on the box, and I purchased them from the man at that address. The case has never been opened and is still securely sealed top and bottom with the factory tape. The box is in 'excellent' condition. The actual model kits (12 inside the case!) are the one and only issue of this amazing aircraft. This is a very nice kit for that time with fine raised panel lines, interior detail and molded in gloss silver and clear.

Nicely molded large scale vac kit. Features white main vac parts, clear front windsheild (in 'new' condition), two sheets of full size plans and a big sheet with two photos of the actual helicopter. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts (uncut) and plans/photos. Special skills and scratch building experience are required because they do not include all the parts needed to complete the model like injection molded kits do. You will need a big and comprehesive spare parts box for this one! Comet Piper Cub Super Cruiser - 40 inch Wingspan - Coca-Cola Bottle Issue, Y10-129

Part of the deluxe high-cost Comet "Y" kit line from the 1950s. Note the box showing a bottle of Coke next to the young builder's snack tray and a finished aircraft. Large scale issue with the 'Coke Bottle' box design. For rubber flight or easily converted to RC using today's tiny and light servos and receivers. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, very high quality printwood, stripwood and spars, and other balsa stock as required, a big machine cut balsa prop, completely preformed wood wheels, hardwood nose button, covering tissue and superb full size plans with instructions. The model has not been started. It has been inventoried complete. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. William H Low Co 1800s Chemical and Reel Carts 'Sarge' - Wilo Line Fire Trucks, 1/24, FC15

Very rare. Includes both carts. Likely from the 1940s. William H Low Co., of Braintree Mass., issued the 'Wilo Line' which included a superb series of antique commercial firefighting equipment. The scale is given as 1/2" and the finished wagons are approximately 7 inches long. The kits were very advanced for the time and shared many of the pre-fabrication methods of Hudson Miniatures. Wilo Line kits features 'all parts in this kit cut to size and shape.' Includes plastic injection molded spoke wheels, precut and machined large and small wooden parts, beautiful, fully finished chemical tanks, metal screen, hose material, metal stock, a sealed bag of smaller parts including a great many more fully carved wood parts, cast metal parts and full size plans with numerous drawings and detailed text instructions. There is even a painting guide. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed small-parts bags with the non-sealed parts inventoried complete including instructions/plans. The kits in this line include Amoskeag Steamer, Hose Reel, Hose Wagon, Chemical Engine and perhaps others. In most cases they are the only kit in existence of these historic vehicles.

There are two versions of the Robin from Comet from this time period (1960s/70s) - this is the one with the larger 22 inch wingspan. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction with quality, die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood, fully formed wheels, spars and wood stock as required, fully formed wire landing gear, rubber motor, plastic prop, wood thrust button, decals, colored tissue and detailed, full-size plans and building instructions. 1970s reissue of one of the more famous free-flight models of the 1930s. These aircraft were common in the 1930s when the sport of free-flight model airplanes reached it's zenith. It was not uncommon for these models to fly for 45 minutes or more on rubber power alone - many flew out of site, and it became common practice to write your name, address and phone number on the covering tissue. From the later 1960s. Comet advertises that the Struct-O-Speed series 'Puts Itself Together...That Quick!' on the box top. These kits were very highly prefabricated for their time, and in comparison to the regular stick and tissue models, the claim is not unfounded. Features die-cut balsa wood main parts, about 12 inch wingspan, finished wooden wheels, paper insignia and full plane/instructions. Features die-cut wings, fuselage sides and formers, tail surfaces, finished wood wheels, formed wire landing gear, metl prop shaft, plastic prop and thrust button and detailed illustrated instructions. Designed to be flown with JETEX jet power pack. Part of the deluxe high-cost Comet "Y" kit line from the 1950s/early 1960s. This kit was purchased new on April 6, 1963, which was the final year for this box design Note the box showing a bottle of Coke next to the young builder's snack tray and a finished aircraft. Large scale issue with the 'Coke Bottle' box design. Measures 23 13/16 inches long with a 17 inch wingspan when assembled. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, very high quality printwood, stripwood and spars, other balsa stock as required, completely preformed wood wheels, covering tissue (still folded in the instructions from the factory) and superb full size plans with instructions.
