The entire Comet 1950s "N" line included the following (gaps mean there is no kit, at least at that time): N1 Tiger Shark P-40, N2 F-86D Sabre Jet, N4 Globe Swift, N6 Taylorcraft, N8 F-51 Mustang, N9 Helicopter, N11 Ryan Navion, N12 Firefly, N15 Piper Cub, N16 Fokker DVII, N17 Spad, N24 Phantom Fury, N25 Aeronca K (floats) and N26 Stinson SR-7. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. Comet advertised that the Struct-O-Speed series 'Puts Itself Together...That Quick!' on the box top, and it was not a completely idle boast - they were highly prefabricated, built in a fraction of the time of regular stick-and-tissue models and flew well if properly built and trimmed. Features high quality die cut balsa sheet parts, pre-formed wire landing gear strut, fully formed wooden wheels, plastic prop and thrust button and excellent plans with instructions and flying tips. Deluxe version; please read carefully. 1960s issue with a 13.25 inch wingspan. Comet would advertise that the Struct-O-Speed series 'Puts Itself Together...That Quick!' on the box top, and it was not a completely idle boast. This exactly model is highly prefabricated and more along the lines of a Speedee-Bilt than a Comet kit. Features a completely machine formed and finished wing with airfoil (like the Monofoil wing), other factory carved parts, die-cut and factory painted balsa sheet parts, a beautiful scale plastic full cowl, plastic prop and thrust bushing, fully formed wire landing gear and prop shaft/rubber hook, finished wheels, rubber motor, complete plans with instructions and even color insignia. Rare. Large 1/16 scale model designed with assistance by Packard International. Very highly detailed. Kit builds a rolling chassis just like the real automobile. Features fully detailed V-12 engine and engine compartment, complete suspension, steerable front wheels, full interior, opening doors and rumble seat, opening and closing rumble seat steps, optional position windows, opening hood, folding luggage rack, optional luggage trunk and choice of convertible boot or top up. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

KVZ Tupelev TU-2, 1/72

Ex-DDR kit, likely from the 1970s. For a KVZ kit, it is nicely molded with fine raise panel lines and 'good' detail. Features dark gloss green, gloss black, clear and white plastic, a factory sealed tube of glue, antenna line, a display stand, full decals and instructions in many languages including English. Never started and complete. KVZ manufactured kits in the former East Germany during the Cold War. Although well known for their airliners, they made some military aircraft and helicopters as well.

Beautiful kit from the 1950s made of quality hardwood - no balsa. The carving is done to the final shape. When complete it makes an impressive model and comes with a unique display stand. Features all carved and smooth wood parts, clear plastic canopy, full color decals, glue, sandpaper and special display stand. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and plans. Please note that the box has significant wear; ideal builder kit. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacture. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - you only had to glue, sand and paint to finish them.

Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Mosquito Boat PT-17 - (Patrol Torpedo Boat), 310

Early 1940s kit from the famous Ideal Aeroplane & Supply Company, which was founded in 1911. True scale kit measures just over 12 inches long when assembled. Features excellent, fully carved wooden hull with metal fittings, other factory-cut wood parts, two quality sheets of printwood, other wood stock as required (mainly dowels), sandpaper and plans. The plans are very highly detailed and well drawn and include top, side, back and front elevations, detailed construction sub-assembly drawings, hull templates, paint guide and text instructions also. Never started and complete. This kit represents a very early PT boat designed by Hubert Scott Paine with three 1350 HP engines and four torpedoes.

Rare. Dated 1969. Large and completely transparent with a 20 inch long fuselage and nearly 2 foot rotor diameter. Well detailed with 184 parts and full internal detail. Features full cockpit, pilot and co-pilot, complete cabin, opening cabin door, inner fuselage framing, detailed engine and more. The electric motor (in the display base with the batteries) turns main and tail rotors. Sound unit makes "chop-chop" sound that varies correctly with main rotor speed. To minimize painting, the kit is molded in clear, zinc chromate green, black, chrome plate, gray, olive drab and flexible silver (ammo belts). The clear fuselage halves have no breaks or cracks, they are mint. The motor, battery contacts and hardware are still in the factory sealed bag. The other parts were never in sealed bags and have been inventoried complete, including 'excellent' decals and instructions. These boxes were thin, fragile and easily damaged. This one is in slightly above-average condition but has wear as shown. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.
