Classic hardbox first issue dated 1964 and part of a very successful 1/48 scale line of World War II kits that Monogram issued in the 1960s. Includes all parts and decals to build any of the five versions and will also make two additional versions - Mark IIA and Mark IIB as per the introduction on the instructions. Features a wide variety of guns, bombs, rockets and cannon, retracting landing gear and rotating prop and wheels. Molded in a beautiful gloss medium gray, black and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. KeilKraft was produced by the E. Keil & Company, Limited of Wickford, Essex Great Britain. Keil specialized in stick and tissue scale flying models and gliders. However, they moved into injection molded kits after WWII. Four aircraft kits were planned but only two were released. This Hurricane was the first one, followed by F2, a Sopwith Camel. The Stuka and Chipmunk were never issued. The vehicle line was more extensive, with at least part of the line consisting of Type T Coach, Road Roller, Traction Engine, Steam Wagon, Ploughing Engine and West Ham Tram.

NOTE: builder only, please read carefully. When assembled this makes an impressive desk top display model with an 11 inch wingspan. All wooden hardwood parts are completely precarved; usually only a quick sanding would finish them. The P-61 is one of the rarest of the WWII Strombeckers and features fuselage, wings & booms completely carved to the final shape, plastic propellers & detail parts, extensive color decals, packets of glue & wood filler and more. Includes excellent large-format step-by-step instructions and numerous illustrations. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing the following parts: machine gun and cannon barrels (originally made from wire), (2) propeller shafts (originally just simple straight pins), main and nose gear struts (originally made with bent wire) and the (2) vertical stabilizers and (1) horizontal stabilizer. Otherwise complete with all other parts and paperwork. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier manufacture of highly prefabricated hardwood models. All through the 1930s to the 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive.

Rare very first issue from Aurora's first factory in Brooklyn. This early kit, as with the other Brooklyn's, was issued without landing gear, bombs and has very little rivet detail. All parts correct for this kit molded in high-gloss yellow and clear including Brooklyn Base, Brooklyn Instructions and correct early Tatem Decals - even the original tissue packing paper is present. The box is solid and displays nicely. Gloss and colors are like new. On the top, there is light surface wear at the lower left. On the sides there is a 1" thin tape tear on one long side and a 1/2" thin tape tear on the other long side from the original tape seal. There is no other tape, price stickers or other defects. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
