Emhar F3H-2 (F-3B) Demon Fighter - VF-31 USS Saratoga and VF-64 - (F3H2), 1/72, EM3001

The Demon was an early carrier based missile armed interceptor. The F3H-2 carried two early Sparrow and 2 Sidewinder missiles. The Demon was replaced in 1964 by the well known F-4H Phantom II. Kit is cleanly molded with recessed detail and features decals for VF-31 USS Saratoga (1960) and VF-64 (1958). NOTE: the interior surfaces have been neatly airbrushed the correct gray, silver and white. The stabilizers, gear doors and pylons have one light coat of primer on them. Quality of paint is excellent and there is no other painting. NOTE: the wing and drop tank halves have been assembled. Quality of assembly is very good to excellent and there is no other assembly. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Still factory sealed. First issue from 1968. The last 'Boeing Bipe' was one of the most maneuverable planes ever built. It had a top speed of 184 mph and was unusually rugged. Very finely molded kit with traditional Monogram quality. Includes markings for Fighting Squadron 2 which operated from the USS Lexington (CV-2) in the 1930s.

1962 hardbox 50 cent issue with classic Bill Campbell box art. Very well made kit for that time with excellent fit and fine recessed and raised panel lines. Includes pylon display stand; excellent for use in a 1930s Air Racing Diorama. Never started and complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The Ike was built by Ben Howard near the Old Chicago Airport (now Midway) and first flew in competition during the Thompson Trophy Race in 1932. It finished 7th with William Ong at the controls. In 1933 she finished 3rd with Roy Minor as pilot at an average speed 8 mph above 1932. In 1934, she finished yet another 8 mph above '33 with Harold Neumann as pilot and finished 4th in the Thompson.

Includes decals for the the three listed aircraft and many more on a large sheet, color painting guide on the bottom of the box and a markings guide on the instructions for all the major USN Aircraft Carrier Hellcats in the Pacific Theater. Features very fine raised panel detail, cockpit, optional plastic parts for motorizing, bombs and drop tank and working arresting hook. The model as never been started. Includes White Ensign WEMPE743 designed just for this kit. This is a large and incredibly well done brass fret with railings, guns, gun details, cranes, lattice antennas, nets, ladders, stairs and much, much more. Never used and complete with full instructions. The actual model is the 1973 issue and contains both ship models. They are very nicely detailed for that time, and each can be built as full hull or waterline. Never started. NOTE: Missing #108, a small rangefinder for the Ashanti. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts present and instructions present.
