1956 issue molded in black plastic. The kit has not been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.

Rare kit from 1969. Very well done and highly detailed. Can be built stock or flip top funny car. The stock kit features one piece body, detailed engine and engine compartment, detailed molded underside and full interior. Funny car includes decals for both cars listed, one piece body that lifts up at the front, blown 429, full racing interior with bucket seat, fire extinguisher and roll cage, full racing girder frame and suspension and more. Although the kit can only build one model, the funny car is almost a completely different kit. Molded in ivory, chrome, clear and with stock and racing slicks and full color decals. During this time, some fantastic Cold War kits were produced of Russian Airliners in Aeroflot, OK and Interflug as well as and Military helicopters and aircraft. Although the kits are basic, we would not have injection molded models of many of the subjects if it were not for KVZ.

1950s type two box with great artwork. This is an excellent kit with good detail. It features separately molded control surfaces, cockpit detail, optional position cabin door, retracting undercarriage, rotating props, boarding stairs, stewardess, family (mother, father and son) and business man as well as two seated pilots. Kit also includes a wonderful tri-fold flier from Jersey Airlines titled 'Channel islands Holidays'. which contains a full description of this airline's trip to the Channel Islands. The Heron was the result of a larger and redesigned Dove and first flew in 1950. It's ability to operate from rough fields and ease of maintenance quickly make it a favorite for feeder and independent airlines in the UK and overseas. Heron IIs were also selected by the RAF for the Queens Flight, which is a statement to it's reliability and safety. Never started.
