Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$29

Still in the original shipping box (as shown). Nicely molded large scale vac kit. Inventoried complete with all parts (uncut) and plans/photos. Special skills and scratch building experience are required because they do not include all the parts needed to complete the model like injection molded kits do. You will need a big and comprehensive spare parts box for this one! If you are curious, I highly recommend that you read the article 'How To Build Vacuform Model Kits' which is located on this website. NOTE: unless you specify differently, it will be shipped in the original shipping box that is shown.

Mr Hobby RMS Lusitania With Two Gold Medal Models PE Detail Sets - (ex-Revell / Entex / Gunze Sangyo /Anmark, 1/350, G401-7000

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$195

Comes with Gold Metal Models photoetched brass "Gold Plus Detail Set For 1/350 Lusitania and Titanic' and the large "1/350 Merchant Ship Titanic and Lusitania" set. Both sets have never been used and are complete with all parts and instructions. The actual kit is older but highly detailed, full hull and measures over 28 inches long when assembled and includes a display base. The kit has never assembled but NOTE: all portholes have been neatly drilled out with the proper size drill bits. This is a big task that takes many hours; all work is done to 'excellent' or better standards. There is no other work done. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the box top mentions some PE accessories, but none are present and none are shown on the instructions. Perhaps the included two sets from GMM were what Mr. Hobby included? Regardless, the two included GMM sets are superior and more complete than anything Mr. Hobby would have included.

Viking Models Seawolf SSN21 Underway Nuclear Attack Submarine, 1/350, VKB1007

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$32

Still factory sealed. Rare and unusual limited release that has excellent detail. The Seawolf is molded underway in a realistic resin sea-base with an excellent wake coming off the sub. Details are metal and PE brass. The best way to think of this kit is that it is a diorama; there is no 'free-standing' sub model, it is part of the molded resin display. The photo shows the assembled and painted kit.

The kit has never been started. The parts that were in factory sealed bags (light green) are still factory sealed. The gray and clear parts were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete. With decals and 'excellent' instructions. The box displays better than the 'good-' grade but is graded as such because there is a 4 inch closed split at top right and a crease as shown. All corners are solid and it has very nice color and gloss, but there is general wear.

Monogram Chevrolet V-8 283 CID Engine and Four Speed Transmission - For Motorizing Builds 6 Different Versions, 1/8, PE62-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair-

$250

NOTE: builder kit only, please read carefully. Very rare. 1960 first and only issue. Can be motorized with the additional Monogram motorizing kit - or you can motorizing it with a small motor as full instructions are included. Large 1/8 scale kit that can be displayed in any of 6 versions. The key parts are snap-on, so you can change the appearance of the engine as you wish. The six versions are Stock (Four Barrel Carburetor, Chevrolet stock intake manifold, valve covers, exhaust manifold and distributor, Street (with Edelbrock Intake, Hedman Exhaust Headers, three Stromberg 97 Carburetors and three chrome air cleaners), Road and Track (Weiand Intake Manifold, six Stromberg 97 Carburetors, Scintilla Vertex Magneto and hetman headers), Dragstrip (Cragar Intake Manifold, GMC 4-71 Supercharger, Cragar Carburetor Adapter Plate, four barrel carburetors, Cragar Supercharger Drive Unit, Tuned Exhaust, Scintilla Magneto, finned chromed rocker covers, Cragar drive pulley and belt), Racing (Hilborn Fuel injection manifold, Intake Stacks, Scintilla Magneto, finned rocker covers and tuned exhaust), All-Out Competition (Potvin Intake Manifold, Potvin Intake Pipes, GMC 4-71 Supercharger, Potvin Pipe Adapter, Scintilla Magneto and tuned exhausts). The kit has many working features - A crank at the back of the transmission turns the crankshaft and moves the two pistons and connecting rods up and down within clear piston sleeves. The pistons are visible through a clear engine block section. Crank pulley also turns the fly wheel, pressure plate and the front drive belt, which moves the water pump and the generator. The belt also turns the GMC 4-71 Supercharger, which has moving internal vanes visible through a clear plastic cover. The transmission shifter can be moved through the 'H' pattern. The model is molded in multiple colors so that painting is not required - molded in Chevrolet Orange (red), black, silver, chrome and clear. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing two simple parts, #33 shaft (simple cylindrical shaft with a notched key at the end) and #87 (one of two; other present. It is the magneto base which is a simple circle on a shaft, easily made.) Otherwise inventoried with all other parts present. NOTE: the instructions are present and usable; I inventoried the kit with them. But they are very badly bug eaten and only good for assembly. The booklet 'Customizing The Chevrolet V-8 Automobile Engine' is missing. NOTE the box looks better than it is. There is a hole, a big 4 inch closed tear, a closed tear along much of the lower long side panel, all four corners are clear taped - I give the box top a 'fair-.' The bottom box (tray) is all present but is 'poor' with numerous closed tears and tape - very, very tattered.

Entex 1910 M-40 Flyabout Thomas Flyer, 1/16, 8490

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$179

Rare and highly detailed large scale (1/16) kit of the famous winner of the 1908 New York to Paris Race. The kit is molded in black, green, gold plated, clear, ivory and dark brown with real rubber tires. The kit features a highly detailed engine with real valve springs, full ignition harnesses, complete rolling chassis just like the real car, working steering with metal shafts, opening doors, removable hood, tape and belts for holding the spare tires and more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. Originally, the Thomas Motor Company was building bicycles in the 1890s as so may other automakers did. Erwin Ross Thomas, the founder, was experimenting with high speed gasoline engines. From 1898 to 1900 they built commercial engines and gasoline powered tricycles. Then Thomas moved to motorcycles, creating the "Auto-Bi", which was the first practical motorcycle commercially built in the USA. By 1902 he was the largest manufacture of motorcycles. Very shortly after this, the first Thomas Car, the "Buffalo Junior" was produced and 100 sold the first year. The Thomas was originally an advanced car and well known for it's high speed. In 1906, E.R. Thomas entered his cars in the Vanderbilt Cup and Glidden Trophy. The Thomas completed the 2000 mile tour without any mechanical adjustments. That year saw further race victories. In 1907 Thomas had several models with a new four cylinder engine; the G70 from that year was known as the fastest production car in the world. At this time, Rolls-Royce made some public statements about the superiority of the 6 cylinder engine. This caused E.R. Thomas to challenge Rolls Royce to a race from NY to Chicago - Rolls Royce, however, backed out. But four European manufactures took Thomas up on his challenge, and the Paris newspaper Le Matin sponsored the great event for 1908. This race laid a course from Buffalo, NY to San Francisco, then to Alaska down the Yukon across the Bering Strait on ice, then rerouted to Japan due the thaw, to Siberia and then across Europe to Paris. The Thomas entry was a stock Touring car with George Schuster as the driver. After 169 days and 21,000 miles, the Thomas was the winner. Today it is still considered one of the greatest automobile races ever.
