Very rare first hardbox issue. Nicely molded and detailed kit for that time. The model can be built stock or with any combination of options such as continental kit, tachometer, floor shift, fender skirts, lake pipes, hood scoop, louvers, aerial, spotlight, fender mirrors, moon disks, exhaust extensions, decals and more. Molded in ivory white, clear, red-tint clear, chrome and black rubber whitewall tires. Chrome and windshield are very good for this model, but the chrome has slightly yellowed. 1980 issue. Features Flying Tiger decals, detailed Allison engine, highly detailed cockpit, retractable landing gear, movable wheels and prop, movable control surfaces, belly tank and pilot figure. NOTE: the kit has minor assembly. The drop tank halves have been neatly assembled. There are no gaps and very little visible glue. There is no other assembly. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: The drop tank and the tail wheel are a lighter color plastic; they are from the early issue of this same kit. The lower front left cowl has broken neatly from the fuselage; this is a simple fix and break was clean.

Very rare 1954 first issue with correct early stand. The box is graded 'excellent++++' and has brilliant color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or price tags, no tape or tag marks and no missing litho. The only flaws are very light shelf wear near the edge. Molded in correct glossy olive drab and clear with 'Buffalo Bill' decals and rare first issue 'Revelving Swivel Base' stand. This has the one-piece plastic stand arm. This design proved very fragile and Revell quickly replaced it less than one year into sales. The instructions are in near mint condition and correctly show the one piece stand arm. Decals are still flat and are excellent. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts including decals and instructions.

This is a classic and still popular kit due to the excellent fit and finish, realistic appearance and numerous action features and accessories. Molded a dark sea blue, black and clear. Model features operating dive brakes, trigger released center bomb, retracting/extending landing gear, removable rear canopy, rear machine gun that elevates and rotates, pilot and gunner and figures of the armorer, LSO (landing signal officer), 4 bombs, bomb cart, and LSO wind screen. Rare kit from the 1950s. One-piece flip top box with early 29 cent price extension. Nicely molded with all recessed panel lines. Glossy silver and clear plastic. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Comet originally began model production in 1929 with a line of balsa flying models. In the mid-1950s Comet made a beautiful line of small and medium scale aircraft and missile models with colorful boxes. The early issues were in one-piece 'flip-top' boxes, and the later issues and releases were in standard two-piece 'hardboxes' with a lithograph slick glued to the top box. In 1963 Comet sold the plastic kit molds to Aurora, who reissued some but not all of the kits.
