Still factory sealed. Limited edition resin model featuring very fine recessed panel lines, excellent cockpit and more. Nicely detailed with many parts. Monogram Boeing 2707-200 SST United Airlines - White Box Issue, 1/400, 6815-0125

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed and in investment-grade 'near mint' box condition. This is the 1973 Mattel/Monogram release of the original Blue Box kit. The Boeing SST was modeled here in the second (-200) variant which still had the swing-wing design which proved impractical in this aircraft. The damaging effects of sonic booms over population centers ultimately contributed to the cancellation of the project. The kit features wings that swing, United Airlines decals and a unique display stand. Please note this is the hard-to-find-issue with a four digit kit number and a price extension after it. This was the last time that Monogram would use price extensions on part numbers.

MPC Hot Rodder's Ghost Of America Stroker McGurk - Original Issue, 104-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Rare original issue from 1964; not the common reproduction. Stroker McGurk was created and drawn by Tom Medley for Hot Rod Magazine. The popularity of the character gave MPC an idea - why not make a model? While an excellent kit, it proved to be a poor marketing choice. The kit was far less popular than the cartoons. As a result, it was quickly and quietly withdrawn from production, making the originals very rare. This Race Car is heavily styled on the Red Baron's Fokker DR-1 and molded in dark red and chrome plate. The chrome parts are in 'mint' condition. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing one part, steering wheel. Includes all other parts and includes 'excellent+' condition decals and instructions. No scale is given but it is large; the body measures 10 inches long when assembled.

Airfix HMS Campbeltown - Craftmaster Issue, 1/600, S2-39

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

1960s issue with dramatic Craftmaster artwork. This full-hull model is well detailed for that time. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. On March 8, 1942, the Campbeltown sailed up the Loire River. Her mission was to destroy the Normandie Drydock, a possible haven for the Tirpitz which was holed up on Norway at this time. The Campbeltown was disguised as a German warship and the bow was packed with 8500 lbs of high explosive depth charges. Under a RAF diversion, Campbeltown fought her way up the river and rammed the dock doors at full speed. Charges at the stern sank the back of the ship and she was wedged in the dock. During a German inspection 8 hours later, the charges went off, scattering parts of the ship up to one mile away. The dock was rendered useless to the Tirpitz, who now had to stay in Norway.

Imai 1906 Mercedes-Benz Motorized - (ex-Bandai / Mercedes Benz), 1/16, 1-3407-998

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

Sold

Very, very rare and from ex-Bandai molds. Still factory sealed. This highly detailed, large-scale working model with a RE-14 electric drive motor includes a novel, well-engineered and correctly hidden metal drive box with gears and transaxle for drive on both rear wheels. Bandai even engineered this model so that the drive belts and cogs move just like on the real car. The on/off system has been improved over the original Bandai system; the engine now operates from a hidden switch under the floorboard and the motor is reversed from a switch on the floor of the interior. The headlights also operate; the batteries are cleverly hidden under the front seat. This kit features a detailed scale engine, removable hood, full frame and detailed underside, complete suspension, front wheels that can be turned, full interior, opening doors and more. To minimize or eliminate painting, Imai usually molded this kit in gloss white, red, gray, black, brown, clear, brass plate, nickel plate and with rubber tires, metal parts, flexible drive belts and more.

Renwal Vanguard Missile Store Display - Never Used In The Original Box, 1/32

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

For the advanced collector and serious investor. Very rare and even more so in never displayed, factory-new condition. This display was found in stored an old hobby shop. It has been in climate-controlled storage since new in the late 1950s and had never even been exposed to light until now. The result is a unique piece that is in the exact condition that it left the factory in; it would be impossible to find a better example. Even the factory shipping box and internal supports are completely intact. This is a Renwal-factory built display produced for hobby shop promotional use. The intention was that hobby shops would purchase and display these dioramas; then potential buyers would see the built model and immediately purchase the kit. This probably worked well; but the hitch was that these displays were expensive, so few hobby shops could afford them back in the 1950s. And for the ones displayed, there was heavy attrition. Parts broke, cigar & cigarette smoke darkened the parts & backdrops and when the new kits came out next year, they were thrown away to make room for newer items. This makes the condition of this one even more exceptional. The actual model is very neatly built and painted, is missing no parts and has had no repairs. The paint is 'factory new' condition and the decals/stickers are very good with the typical age wear as shown. The 3-D cardboard display is 'factory new' with no more minor flaws than it naturally left the factory with There are no rips, tears, repair, tape or missing material. The only real 'flaw' would be very slight age foxing on the back of the piece as shown (on the white section) A superb 'no apologies' piece of 1950s model kit factory artwork. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured. NOTE: It will be packed as well as possible in a double box, but be aware that some small parts or men may come loose during shipping and may have to repaired on your end.
