In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of their kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Features spoked wheels, detailed chassis with separately molded front and rear suspension, full interior and a separately molded tailgate. Molded in bright dark green. The kit has never been started. From about 1935. Very rare 1/48 solid wood and metal kit of this classic Pan Am airliner. The kit includes detailed full size plans, 3D precut fuselage (only sanding needed-all carving is done), 2D profile cut wings, stabilizer, rudder and cowling, completely turned cowling, a very large corked-stopped glass vial of wood filler and one of clear dope, window celluloid, turned wooden wheels, cast metal pilots (2), propeller and landing gear struts, black tissue for the hull color, sandpaper, bamboo, metal stock, other wood as needed and 'N' registration number perfectly precut (the original owner may have done that). The model has not been started and is complete.

1961 issue of the popular kit. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large bombers. All kits released up to this time had been fairly small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. The first issue box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year. This is the second issue box art and the more famous of the two. Note the 'Famous Fighters' in the oval Sunburst logo. Correctly molded in silver and clear and with the large, clear triangle base stand. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Rare kit from 1961 from Scale Model Products, later purchased by AMT. Nicely detailed and molded kit. Features Chevrolet 283 with factory fuel injection, detailed engine bay, opening hood, full interior, opening trunk, optional hubcaps, numerous competition and custom parts and much more. Even includes the famous SMP scale billboard with a Corvette insert. There has been no assembly but NOTE: the body, hood, trunk, optional top and bumper filler have been spray painted red. You can remove this with DOT3 brake fluid, spray oven cleaner or any safe, tested plastic stripper. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Scale Model Products (SMP) was a major competitor to AMT during the late 1950s. SMP started the 'Annual' craze in 1958. However, AMT bought SMP around 1960/1961. AMT liked the SMP logo more than their own, and substituted their letters into it. It is not known exactly who invented the '3 In 1' kit, but many credit it to SMP.
