The kit box is 100% intact but is graded 'Fair+' because of the creasing shown and tape & tape tears on the side panels.

Original motorized dealership model in exceptional condition. It has a bare metal chassis, metal spring motor with the original key, metal axles and drive gear. The model is 100% complete. The body has very good color and gloss and is very straight. There is only the slightest bit of minor warp to the celluloid. Mirrored windows are 'excellent' and the metal front bumper and grill and metal rear bumpers have 'excellent' chrome. The previous owner has the fine trim correctly painted silver to 'professional' standards - it could pass for factory paint but it is not. The box is not original.

Rare. Original dealer promotional model; not a reissue. The chassis has the correct Jo-Han logo and the friction drive is present. This one is anything but perfect but the strongpoint is the body. These were all celluloid plastic; this one has only slight warping and is better than 90% of the survivors. The promo is complete with all parts and has no breaks. The chrome is 'excellent.' The windshields have been cleared with something, perhaps clear paint. The silver trim has been painted to 'excellent++' quality by the previous owner. He painted the chassis black as well and it is 'very good.' The box is not original. NOTE: I would only recommend this promo for quality parts or as one to restore using another promo with good windshields.

Original dealer promotional model; not a reissue. The chassis has the correct Jo-Han logo and the friction drive motor still works. It has never been played with or rolled as the tires are perfect. I would grade this one a 8.5 out of 10 condition; the only flaws are very light general wear and chrome wear on the front bumper. The body is straight and the paint has excellent color and gloss and shown. Clear windshield is excellent as well. The silver trim has been painted to 'excellent++' quality by the previous owner and it looks better than most factory painted trim on other promos. He painted the chassis black as well and it is 'very good.' The box is not original.

The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The fact that Hasegawa still uses some LS molds testifies to their detail and accuracy.

Older kit that is designed to operate in water. Measures 10 inches long when assembled. Features a metal weight to achieve neutral buoyancy, movable diving planes and a rubber band motor with winding handle. The kit is molded in dark brown/gray (above the waterline) and dark red (below the waterline). Includes a static display stand also. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. No decals are shown on the instructions, so I believe that Doyusha did not issue this kit with decals. I-171 lead a very active career from Pearl Harbor, Midway and beyond. She was diverted to supply duty and was depth charged and sunk on one such mission by DD-472 USS Guest and DD-475 USS Hudson, 1 February 1944, off Buka Island.

Inside is a very nice UPC full-hull Victory featuring a display stand, detailed deck fittings, preformed rat lines, separately molded masts and yards, vacuform billowing sails and detailed rigging diagrams. The ship is molded in black, dark wood brown and tan wood to minimize painting. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. NOTE: one deadeye part has the lower 'ropes' broken off and most are missing. This is easily replaced with pulled sprue or any small strip plastic stock.

From the 1960s and still in the original General Mills labeled shipping box. Inside is a nice small scale four masted sailing ship molded in red, white, yellow and black plastic to minimize painting. Features full hull or waterline option, good deck fitting detail, separately molded yards and masts, premolded rat lines, billowing vac sails, display stand, sail diagram and detailed rigging diagram. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. The two sister ships were built in Kobe and launched in 1930. They were both steel four-masted barques carrying royals over double top and topgallant sails. They served as school ships for the Japanese merchant marine. After WWII, they carried demobilized soldiers home, and up to 1951 made dozens of trips to Asia and the Pacific. In 1952, they worked to collect the remains of Japanese war dead from the South Pacific. The ships were replaced in 1989.
