Hard-to-find 1/48 scale armor in the 'Big A' box from 1972. This model is from the original 1960s molds and was highly regarded and reviewed at that time. Features operating treads and bogies, figures and battlefield display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Avro CF-105 Arrow, 1/80, 124-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

1958 hardbox issue with fantastic Jo Kotula artwork. For the time, this was a very nice kit with good detail. Molded in white and clear with the Aurora 'Triangle World' transparent base. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

AMT 1954 Plymouth Suburban 2 Door Station Wagon Friction Drive Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Original dealer promotional model with a working friction drive motor. Like all originals, it has a natural aluminum metal chassis with no markings. AMT is simply my guess for the manufacture, although it looks like an AMT chassis. Body color and gloss is very, very good. This is a celluloid plastic body, but it is very straight; there is only slight warping, but it is better than 95% of the survivors. The tires show no signs of wear and it has clearly never been played with. The windshield is also very nice and is factory-tinted, but it needs cleaned. I would grade this one a 8.5 out of 10 with the deductions going to light general wear and the slight body warp. The box is not original.

Monogram B-52 Stratofortress With Jet Sound - Vietnam Issue, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Rare 1969 issue has Vietnam-style boxart on a high-gloss box. This is the 2nd release of this kit and the last with rare 'Jet Sound.' These models were designed with a major selling point - an internal parts display that could be seen by potential modelers at the store. The display showed major parts of the kit. Inside, all cardboard presentation is still mint and even includes the tissue packing paper. At this point (1969), Monogram had ceased making 'Monoglue', so the B-52 presentation cardboard either had another brand factory-installed (Testors was common) or had a empty spot for glue. Contains 207 parts. Very nicely detailed. Features crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine and of course battery-powered realistic Jet Sound. It has never been started. Inventoried with all parts, 'excellent++' decals, instructions, B-52 booklet and Jet Sound supplement instructions present. Please NOTE that box displays better than the 'good++' rating but I graded it as such because there is tape residue on the bottom of the four side panels.

Execuform Curtiss XP-87 Black Hawk - Bagged, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

Sold

Rare subject. This aircraft was the last Curtiss-Wright designed airplane and was intended to replace the P-61 Black Widow. It was a clean and capable design yet underpowered; plans were to use the power powerful J47s in the production aircraft. The Air Force placed a production order; however, that was canceled and it lost out to the F-89 Scorpion. The kit has never been started and is complete. A certain degree of modeling skill is required to build vacuform models. They are not recommended for beginners.

Scale Flight Comet's Akron Funk - 20 inch Wingspan Dime Scale Flying Airplane, Dime

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

Scale Flight Model Company in Bloomington, Indiana, USA was dedicated to releasing authentic reproductions of the finest "Dime Scale" flying model (stick and tissue) kits from the 1930s/40s. Dime Scale models used to sell for a dime in the 1930's, hence the name. They are actually box scale, but as a general guideline, they usually had a wingspan of 16 inches and have simple and light construction. "Dime Scale" models are now a class flown in some competitions. Kit consists of contest grade printwood, contest quality strip wood, machine cut balsa propeller, the best Japanese tissue, wooden wheels, competition bushed nose plug, brass thrust washers, prop shaft, prop freewheeler, FAI rubber strip motor and a copy of a genuine dime scale plan that was used in the 1930s-1940s. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.
