This was an excellent model for that time and features a detailed missile with moving upper fins, operating launcher that is made to hook to other Ajax models to create an entire battery. Nicely detailed model from 1979 that includes parts for all versions - civil Lufthansa South Atlantic Mail Service 1938 and two Luftwaffe aircraft. Includes color painting guide (on the back of the box and decals for all three also. Lufthansa was a pioneer in trans-oceanic mail services and the Do-15 and Do-18 grew to fit this need. Given the German interests in South America, it was no surprise that they established one of the first airmail services between Europe and that continent. This kit will build one of those aircraft, the Lufthansa South Atlantic Mail Aircraft (1938) D-AANE 'Zyklon' or the military version. The Do-18 was an improved D0-15 'Wal' and set several records during its long useful life.
