Impressive scale kit for RC, free flight or control line. Features large, full color decal sheet, high-grade die cut balsa, die cut plywood, vacuform plastic cowl with engine detail plus wheel pants and pilot, clear canopy material, carved and painted wood main and tail wheels, finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic propeller, carved wooden thrust button, firewall, elevator horn platform, metal hardware and pushrod wire, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line. The model has not been started. The small parts are still factory sealed; the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete and includes plans and decals. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I personally considered Sterlings to be 'deluxe' kits.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed

$79

Very, very rare. Still factory staple sealed; this is a bagged kit with the factory paper header. Until now this kit was not known to exist; there is no mention of it in Burn's guide or anywhere on the internet. The model features recessed and raised surface detail, clear blisters, windows and cockpit window, retracting floats and more. There is a "Revell 'S' Style" base (but it's not the Revell base). What is more puzzling is that the artwork on the paper header is a copy of the Aurora first-issue PBY artwork. Please note that the header is damaged and missing some of the right hand section as shown.

PMC 1956 Chevrolet Belair Station Wagon Promo And Bank, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$89

Original dealer promotional model from 1956. The color is Adobe Beige / Sierra Gold. It is in unusually good condition and seems to have always been adult owned. There is only a slight bit of body warping which is very rare. There are no cracks, splits, repairs or any body damage. The tires show no tread wear so it has not been played with. The condition of the paint is 'excellent' as is the colored plastic; there is excellent gloss and color. The chrome is in amazing 'near mint' condition which is also rare. The green-tinted clear 'glass' is excellent all around. This promo is a bank; there is a metal bezel on the bottom that says "To Help You Save For a Rainy Day...Or Help You Buy Your New Chevrolet." There is a coin slot and a lock also, but there is no key. The box is not original.

Merlin Models Hawker Hart Frog Penguin Replica, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$38

Have you ever wanted to build the world's first injection molded plastic kits? Well, now you can and for an affordable price. As you know, Frog in England produced the world's first plastic model kits starting back in 1938. Merlin Models receive permission for this very limited edition, exact replica of this historic Frog Penguin kit. Nicely molded and also includes photocopies of the original Penguin instructions. The kit has never been started. All parts and paperwork are still in the factory sealed bag. In the late 1930s, before WWII, Frog created the world's first line of injection molded plastic model kits. Since Frog stood for 'Flies Right Off the Ground' and Frog had a famous line of flying models, the world's first all injection molded kits were called Frog Penguin for the bird that does not fly. The Penguin Hart was among the early pre-war releases by Frog.

StromBecker Chance Vought F7U Cutlass, C49-89

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$64

Beautiful kit from the 1950s made of quality Western Pine hardwood - no balsa. The carving is done to the final shape and when completed it makes an impressive model. Features all carved and smooth wooden parts, clear plastic canopy, full color decals, glue, sandpaper and special hardwood 'teardrop' shaped display stand. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts and plans. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - you only had to glue, sand and paint to finish them.
