Revell Tactical Missiles Dart and Little John, 1/40, H547-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$145

Hard-to-find model in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. This is the rarer final issue from 1963 and not the "S" issue. For this release, the original box art was retained and the part number and name were changed, while the side panels show Revell's then-new series of 1/72 scale WWII aircraft. Note that the this kit is called 'Tactical Rockets' instead of the original 'Tactical Missiles'. These models are well detailed. The Dart includes four missiles, one launcher, three stands, decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, decals and crew of three. Molded in dark olive drab and white plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Little John was a light-weight free-flight rocket that was highly mobile. It could be pulled on it's launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early 5-foot long wire guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance.

Revell A-4D Skyhawk With Bullpup Missiles - 'S' Issue, 1/50, H299-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$179

Very rare. First and only issue dated 1958 and from this amazing box art you can clearly see why these models are so popular and collectible. For this release, Revell modified 1956 H232-89 Skyhawk molds by added two Bullpup Missiles (improperly labeled as 'Air-To-Air Missiles' on the box top), two missile trailers with tow bars, four figures, three figure bases, weapons pylons, separate flap hinge covers and of course a completely new decal sheet. The aircraft is molded in the correct gloss gray and clear. Decals are flat, intact and in amazing 'near mint' condition. The instructions are in 'near mint+' condition.

Revell Regulus II US Navy Test Missile - 'S' Issue, 1/68, H1815-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$165

Rare original issue 1958 'S' kit that is in 'excellent' condition. The colors and gloss as are new and the box has four solid corners, no repairs, no tape (other than the factory sealing tape, of course), no stains and no missing litho. Flaws include light, general wear as shown and light corner & edge wear. This model represents the first test Regulus II with landing gear; Vought did this to the prototype and test missiles to save significant money in the testing phases. Very nicely molded in a beautiful deep gloss blue and with very good detail down to the gear well interiors. Includes display 'runway' base. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are both 'excellent' with typical light age yellowing a the only real flaw.

Revell North American X-15 - 'S' Issue, 1/65, H198-89

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$155

First issue from 1958. From the stunning artwork on this kit, it is clear to see why these models are considered the pinnacle of box art and why they are so collectible today. This is a finely molded and well detailed kit for that time and features removable canopy and detailed engine, pilot figure, landing gear and retractable landing skid, movable control surfaces & dive brakes and more. Includes Revell's famous round-based 'Globe' swivel stand, a separate, full size color and marking sheet with four views; there is even an excellent history of the aircraft. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The box displays better than the rating, but that is because there is some minor litho chipping and moderate edge wear, especially on the left side corners.

A few other small parts are neatly painted (cockpit tub, exhaust cones, radar dish). There is no other assembly or painting. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: the pieces have some tape residue on them. There is no etching, just sticky material that does come off fairly easily - I tested it by removing some using Novus plastic polish.

Revell Avro Dam Buster Lancaster With Secret Bomb, 1/72, H202-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$42

First issue hardbox from 1963. This very popular model features specially modified Lancaster fuselage, Dam Buster Secret Bomb, special release mechanism, retractable landing gear, rotating propellers and wheels, movable control surfaces and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Dam Busters squadron was famous for its daring raids on three German dams on May 16, 1943. Carrying the special Barnes Wallis-designed bombs, the Lancasters flew very low over the water in the face of heavy flak to drop the rotating bombs perfectly. Many did not return. The bombs did perform as promised, first skipping over the water, hitting the dam, then rolling down 30 feet before exploding with tremendous force. In an airburst, these bombs would not have damaged the dams, but since water is incompressible, the dams were breached.
