Renwal Sopwith Triplane with Aeroskin Lt. Col. R Collishaw's Aircraft, 1/72, 266-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

$36

Still factory sealed. Contains pre-colored Aeroskin fabric created to resemble fabric covered aircraft. No painting needed since all designs are printed on the fabric. You build the inner structure of the aircraft then cover it, similar to the construction of the actual aircraft.

Renwal MIM-3 Nike Ajax Anti-Aircraft Guided Missile with Launcher and Crew, 1/32, 550-149

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$165

From the 1950s. Fantastic kit with a 'near mint' investment quality box with factory-new colors and gloss, four solid corners with no repairs, zero tape or tape marks, no fading and no litho damage. Flaws include very light corner wear, an old price tag on one short side and a pencil-point sized closed hole on one long side. Classic box art showing the Nike Ajax blowing up what appears to be a B-17 over an American city. Excellent model (for that time) with operating launcher that is made to hook to other Ajax models to create an entire battery. Molded in olive drab and white, with the white parts still factory sealed. Never started, and the olive drab parts have been inventoried 100% complete. Includes instructions and decals. Must be shipped insured.

Renwal M65 280mm Atomic Cannon with M249 and M250 50 Ton Heavy Gun Lifting Truck/Transporters, 1/32, 553-498

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$245

Hard-to-find Renwal first issue of this very desirable kit- not the common Revell reissue. The box top says 'Fully Operating Model Does Everything But Fire' and it is true. The model consists of over 300 parts and has many action features typical of Renwal models. The wheels roll, tractors can be hooked to the cannon which can be stowed in the 'travel' position. The gun can move into the 'fire' position off the tractors and can be trained realistically. It is molded in olive drab plastic and the inner factory cardboard divider is present. The kit has never been started. All bags but one are still factory sealed. The "A" transport generic parts bag was split, so I opened it and did an inventory - it is complete. The few big parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete. All inspection slips are present also as well as a smaller-format Renwal kit catalog. Decals are in remarkable 'excellent' condition with the typical yellowing and some light creases as the only flaws. The instructions are also 'excellent' with one closed fold split as the only real flaw. This early issue has the main gun barrel factory built and painted; the paint is in 'excellent' condition with only a few scuffs. The box displays much better than the 'good-' grade. But I graded it as such because there are three closed-split corners (two with clear tape on them), other smaller closed splits at two corners, edge wear and general light wear. The lower box tray has a long closed split along one edge.

Renwal General Patton II Medium Tank, 1/32, 556-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$24

Second issue of this action kit. Features working suspension, treads, rotating turret, elevating gun, lock clamp for traveling position, detailed engine with removable hatch and crew members that take cover then pop up from hatches. Never started. NOTE: missing several small parts that can be made - (2) #39 small hinges (flat plates), (2) #43 very small hinges for the traveling lock, (2) #78 antenna, (1) #65 'U' shaped hand rail and (1) #68 'U' shaped lifting eye. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions.

Renwal The Visible Airplane Engine WASP 9 Cylinder Radial by Pratt & Whitney, 1/4, 809

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$1200

From the late 1950s. Very large (1/4 scale) and highly detailed kit. By far the finest working visible aircraft engine kit ever made. Comes with electric motor, gear and battery boxes and all hardware. Transparent housings permit viewing the correctly working pistons, valves, rocker arms, connecting rods, cam and gears in action with synchronized firing of the spark plugs using red electric bulbs. Propeller also changes pitch. Kit is molded in clear, red, black, blue metallic and gray plastic. Inside, the kit is as it left the factory. The inner (bottom or tray) box is excellent, and all cardboard inserts and clear panels are intact as shown and display very well. The outer box has seen significant wear as you can see. It had closed splits along the seams (corners and one side) and I correctly fixed those from the inside with card stock and book binding glue. The kit has not been started. It has been very carefully inventoried and the plastic parts are 100% complete. The metal parts and bulbs are all still in factory sealed envelopes. The Renwal cement is present and mint. Includes all the factory paperwork- instructions, parts sheet, yellow lubrication warning, small Renwal catalog and special booklet on 'The Aircraft Engine and How It Operates.' All of these are in 'excellent' to 'near mint' condition. It is amazing that this kit is complete - most of these models, even if still factory sealed, are missing parts due to poor packing procedures.

Renwal USS Sarasota Attack Transport PA-24, 1/500, S605-149

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$225

Very rare. Dates from the late 1950s or early 1960s. This is a full hull kit, that is very nicely molded and finely detailed for that time. NOTE: this kit has minor, neat assembly. The hull halves, prop and rudder & center deck have been assembled and the bow gun platform has been partially assembled (5 parts glued together). Quality of assembly is 'excellent+' to 'professional.' There is no other assembly and zero painting. I dry fitted the decks to the hull and they fit perfectly. The model kit has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Renwal Frank Hawks JN-4 Heddon Jenny Barnstormer, 1/48, 284-169

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$85

Still factory sealed but the seal has split. After WWI there was a surplus of JN-4 aircraft and many found their way into barnstorming across the country. Frank Hawks was one such pilot. Heddon, an enterprising fishing tackle manufacture, hired Frank to pilot this brilliantly painted Jenny in air shows as an advertising plan. This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model.

Renwal Nieuport 17 Aeroskin Capt. G.M. Guynemer's Aircraft, 1/72, 265-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+++

2011 Revell reissue using the original molds and box art. Ideal builder. The kit has never been started.
