As big as an aircraft, the Kometa-20 (K-20) was one of the first airborne strategic missile systems. Due to it's range (600km, but with the range of the Tu-95 that carried it, add 6400 km to that), high speed (mach 2) and massive size (which held the big 5,000 lb 37D three-megaton thermonuclear warhead), the Kangaroo was a real threat, especially in the early Cold War years. AS-3s were replaced in the 1980s by the new K-22 system. This model is perfect for a 1/72 airbase diorama. This beautifully molded and highly detailed missile kit features all fine recessed surface detail, ground cart and extensive decals down to the stencils. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.
