Sealsmodel 1/700 Fuji Pre-Dreadnought Battleship, SMP0103800 plastic model kit

1/700 SMP0103800 Sealsmodel Fuji Pre-Dreadnought Battleship

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Very highly detailed and finely molded waterline model. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes flags and instructions. Fuji was a very famous and active Japanese capital ship. In the late 1890s the Japanese shipyards were not quite yet ready for such a project, so the Navy contracted with Thames Iron Works in Great Britain to build the class of four. Fuji took part in the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) in the Battle of Port Arthur with her sister Yashima. Fuji then engaged Russian forces in the Battle of the Yellow Sea and Tsushima. In 1910 she was designated a coastal defense ship in 1910 and served in a training role. She was hulked in 1922 and actually survived WWII to be scrapped in 1948.
