Revell 1/125 U-99 German U-Boat (Type VIIB) WWII, H408 plastic model kit

1/125 H408 Revell U-99 German U-Boat (Type VIIB) WWII

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Large-scale kit dated 1976 but is a later issue than that. Measures over 20 inches long when assembled. Features engraved hull detail, two rudders and propellers, 'torpedo' display stand, detailed conning tower with periscopes, hatches and railings, 88mm deck gun, 20mm AA gun and more. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the decals are intact and clean, but the box has suffered moisture damage; the decals may have also. U-99 was one of the most active and successful early boats under the command of Otto Kretschmer. She survived 7 active patrols but was sunk on the 8th patrol on March 17, 1941. 40 of the crew survived the sinking, including Kretschmer, who accounted for the greatest tonnage of shipping sunk by any commander in WWII.
