19997 issue of this detailed, large scale, full-hull kit. Features detailed hull, deck and superstructure, prop shafts, props and rudder, deck mounted torpedo tubes and depth charges, three 3 inch guns, eight 20mm guns, one twin 40mm, whale boat, four life rafts, two searchlights, gun directors, range finder and display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Bligh was a Captain Class Frigate transfered from the US Navy to the Royal Navy in 1943 under a lease agreement. By the start of 1944 she was in service with the 5th Escort Unit in the North Atlantic. On May 6, 1944, she forced the German Submarine U765 to the surface. While with the 4th Convoy Escort Unit on January 1, 1945, she sank U-1061 in the Irish Sea. After the war she was returned to the US Navy.
