Finally, the Pride of the Italian Line in 1/350 scale! The SS Rex is from the same team that brought you the 1/350 SS Normandie Ocean Liner. This four year project is a 100% new model and represents the Rex in her glory years of the mid 1930s. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler, designer and builder of experimental engines and test equipment and an engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. All of the smaller parts are printed on ultra-high resolution 3D SLA resin printers. These parts meet and often exceed what is possible with injection molded plastic. Only the larger parts (hull, deck pieces and funnels)are cast resin. These are pressure-cast from de-aired molds to minimize air bubbles. The Italian Line advertised that "The Southern Route Is the Lido Deck Route." By virtue of avoiding the stormy and cold North Atlantic, travelers experienced a true outdoor lifestyle. The Rex was intentionally designed for this. For this model, extensive research and time was spent capturing the exact look of the colorful 1st and 2nd Class Aft Pool Areas- from the changing room & showers, grab rope on the pool, pool slide, stairs & diving boards, tables with umbrellas, recessed (covered) 1st Class Restaurant/Lounge and more. Because of the superior performance of 3D Printing, over 90% of the usual PE (photoetched) metal parts are now 3D printed resin. This is a vast improvement as they are no longer flat, but are true to the shape of the prototype. This also makes for a nearly complete model "out-of-the-box." Dated 1991 and from the original molds. This is still the only accurate large-scale model of the Widowmaker. Still factory sealed and from 1980. Very nicely molded and detailed kit. Has decals for both aircraft. In the 1930s Pan Am was a household word in the USA for their romantic foreign routes and the glamorous 'China Clippers' that crossed the Pacific Ocean, stopping at such ports as Wake Island. Pan Am's attention soon turned to the Atlantic. Since non-stop service would be needed, a new aircraft was designed. The Boeing 314 was chosen. This huge flying boat started flying the Atlantic mail in 1939 with a trip over 26 hours long. Before the war, the 314 fleet flew the Pacific, Atlantic and other routes. The airliner was a palace compared to the cramped jets and limited service of today. The flight deck compared to the bridge of a ship and housed 6 crew. It was connected to the passenger cabin by a spiral staircase. The luxurious cabins were divided into 5 standard compartments, each seating 10 passengers, a dining salon for 14, a special compartment for four and a deluxe bridal suite. 74 could be carried on day trips and 40 when sleeping quarters for all passengers was required. Chefs prepared gourmet meals while passengers lounged in deeply cushioned wicker chairs and enjoyed a grand view of the scenery from about 5,000 feet. The age of the Clippers ended shortly after WWII when land planes could operate at much higher speeds than the flying boats.

1960s Pyro issue from original molds. The model includes clera and beautiful green injection molded parts including wire wheels (not solid wheels), detailed chassis and complete interior. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. Measures roughly 10 inches long and 12 inches high when assembled. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The ocean going Polynesian Sailing Canoe is a critical part of Polynesian heritage and history. Through many trips in and across the Pacific Ocean, Polynesians spread to numerous islands. One example was the colonizing of present day New Zealand as early as 1280 AD.

1962 60 cent issue with classic Bill Campbell box art. Very well made kit with excellent fit, fine recessed & raised panel lines and a pylon display stand which is also excellent for use in a 1930s Air Racing Diorama. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing small clear windshield. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions. The Ike was built by Ben Howard near the Old Chicago Airport (now Midway) and first flew in competition during the Thompson Trophy Race in 1932. It finished 7th with William Ong at the controls. In 1933 she finished 3rd with Roy Minor as pilot at an average speed 8 mph above 1932. In 1934, she finished yet another 8 mph above '33 with Harold Neumann as pilot and finished 4th in the Thompson.

Limited issue injection molded kit that is well detailed with all recessed panel lines and numerous photoetched parts on two brass frets. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. On January 10, 1945, Hitler held a conference during which the staff discussed ways that the Luftwaffe could restore a degree of air superiority. During this discussion, Hitler suggested to Goering that the 50mm cannon be installed in a '262 so that it could open fire at longer ranges with more telling results. Two different cannon were examined; the Mauser Mk214A was chosen over the Rheinmetall Borsig BK5 and was installed in Me-262 W.Nr. 111899. The aircraft made the first flight in February of 1945. The pilot, Herget, flew the craft in practice against ground targets then actually flew to operational missions against a US bomber formation. On both occasions the gun jammed. A second aircraft was built, but it likely did not fly before the end of the war. American forces captured this second aircraft (named 'Wilma Jeanne' and then 'Happy Hunter II') but it crashed while being flown to France. The decals furnished in this kit are for that second prototype.

late 1950s Cellovision issue with great Ray Gaedke artwork. This XK 120 is molded in light blue and features a one-piece body (excellent for slot car conversion), windshield, chassis/underpan, steering wheel and four wheels/tires. While a simple kit, it does have very good interior and realistic lines. Never started. The actual car has been inventoried with all plastic parts and instructions present. NOTE: missing decals. The Cellovision window is intact and in 'very good' condition and the trading card is also 'very good.' The scale is not given; I have approximated it as 1/32. The actual model is 5.125 inches long.

Large 1/200 scale kit that is very nicely molded and well detailed. Molded in two colors, red and gray. Features complete deck fittings, removable torpedo magazine covers with torpedoes inside, rotating deck gun, hand rails and five crew members. Includes all hardware for motorizing; the motor (common FA-130) must be purchased separately as Nichimo did not provide it with the kit. The kit has never been started. All of the small plastic parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the hull was never sealed and is present. The hardware bag was opened so I inventoried it and NOTE: missing (2) small screws. These are stock (generic) items and easy to replace. Otherwise included all other hardware, decals and instructions.
