Very early Tamiya offering with a high-gloss box top and very collectible artwork. Although older, you could see where Tamiya was heading with plastic models. Features all very fine raised panel lines, working flaps, rudder and elevator, retractable landing gear, retractable landing gear, three piece canopy and external wing bomb load. The kit is engineered to be motorized and includes all hardware to do so, but Tamiya did not include the motor with the model. Never started. This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits, and a rare large one in 1/48. Features markings for the aircraft of "High Hat Squadron," VF-1B commander Seligman aboard the USS Saratoga in the early 1930s. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model. The kit has never been started.
