Finally, the Pride of the Italian Line in 1/350 scale! The SS Rex is from the same team that brought you the 1/350 SS Normandie Ocean Liner. This four year project is a 100% new model and represents the Rex in her glory years of the mid 1930s. All design work was done in CAD by Ken Friend, a master modeler, designer and builder of experimental engines and test equipment and an engineer who specialized in CAD/CAM/CAE Systems Management and Implementation. All of the smaller parts are printed on ultra-high resolution 3D SLA resin printers. These parts meet and often exceed what is possible with injection molded plastic. Only the larger parts (hull, deck pieces and funnels)are cast resin. These are pressure-cast from de-aired molds to minimize air bubbles. The Italian Line advertised that "The Southern Route Is the Lido Deck Route." By virtue of avoiding the stormy and cold North Atlantic, travelers experienced a true outdoor lifestyle. The Rex was intentionally designed for this. For this model, extensive research and time was spent capturing the exact look of the colorful 1st and 2nd Class Aft Pool Areas- from the changing room & showers, grab rope on the pool, pool slide, stairs & diving boards, tables with umbrellas, recessed (covered) 1st Class Restaurant/Lounge and more. Because of the superior performance of 3D Printing, over 90% of the usual PE (photoetched) metal parts are now 3D printed resin. This is a vast improvement as they are no longer flat, but are true to the shape of the prototype. This also makes for a nearly complete model "out-of-the-box." They are not required to complete the kit, however 1/350 railings are sold by a vast number of aftermarket sources. Rare first issue from 1956 with Northern Lights logo. The box is in beautiful "Excellent+++" condition with factory-new color & gloss and four solid corners. There is no fading, no stains, no tears or missing litho, no creases and no price tags or tag marks. It would have graded 'Near Mint' but there is a very small (11mmx 5mm) factory tape pull on the upper long side. Molded in the correct gloss deep green with flexible black treads. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Rare 1956 first issue that includes both kits - the High Speed Tractor and the Long Tom 155mm gun. The box has excellent color and gloss but has edge and general wear and some isolated and light age foxing. This model has many working features - the tractor has movable tracks and working bogies, rotating and elevating machine gun, driver and interior details. The gun can be stowed for transport with the M-4 and all extra gear to do this correctly is supplied. The Long Tom features and elevating barrel, moving limbers and detailed mechanism. Never started and still as it came from the factory - the 155mm parts are in the factory sealed bags and the tractor parts were never factory sealed. The tractor has been inventoried complete with all parts. Includes decals and instructions.

Rare kit from the 1980s. Features one piece body, complete interior, molded underside chassis detail and more. There are decals for dash instrumentation &r adio, hood and trunk Cadillac crest & license plates. Molded in white, clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. NOTE: this kit has minor, 'near mint' quality subassembly as follows: clear light lenses to headlight buckets; grill detailed (painted) where required (superbly done to 'excellent' quality); axle guides to chassis; chassis airbrushed the correct semi-gloss black. There is no other assembly. Inventoried and includes all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: decals are photocopies from another Hasegawa issue of this kit; they work perfectly for assembly but the figures from the other issue were not included in this issue. The decals are cut out but are all present. The extra ones (used in different cars other than this one) are not present; only the Cadillac decals are present.

Late 1960s reissue of the 1950s kit. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood sheets, pre-cut balsa stringers and spars, detailed full size plans, building instructions, clear material for windows, tissue and propeller. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Monogram Classics issue from the year 2000. It is made from the original molds of the great 1960s kit, which is widely considered to be one of the best visible airplane action kits ever made. Features a full cut away model with interior detail. Buttons on the base activate two motors that make the prop spin, and the main gear and tail wheel retract and extend and the main and tail wheel doors close automatically. Two other levers on the base drop the wing bombs. The canopy opens and closes to show the super detailed cockpit. It is even molded in the original issue colors; red, zinc chromate interior green, black, silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Rare early issue from Pyro that is likely from the very late 1950s or early 1960s. This is a very good model of the famous fishing schooner that was built by Louis G. Thebaud and christened by his wife Gertrude. After being initially defeated by the Blunose, the Thebaud won the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy in 1930 in a hard-fought contest with her rival. The contest is still disputed to this day. The model measures 20 inches long when built and features 125 pieces, full one-piece hull with display stand, deck fittings, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in black and wood tan. The kit has never been started. Almost all parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The few parts that were never factory sealed (the largest parts such as the hull and deck, etc) has been inventoried complete. Includes instructions with rigging details.
